The East Fairmont Busy Bee Band & Honeybees participated in the 152nd Grafton Memorial Day Parade in May 27, 2019 in Grafton, West Virginia. This marks the second consecutive year the band has performed in the annual tradition. Marion County was represented in the parade by East Fairmont and the North Marion Husky Band, which is under the direction of East Fairmont alumnus Matthew Morgan.
Grafton has the designation of having the longest ongoing Memorial Day Observance in the United States. A parade and ceremony has been held every year since 1868 in this historic town with school children carrying flowers to the Grafton National Cemetery. Bands, floats, military, politicians, school children, churches, non-profit organizations march the crowd filled streets from the Historic B&O Depot to the Grafton National Cemetery located on Walnut Street beginning at 10 am followed by the 152 Annual Memorial Day Observance.
